The food is a nice change of pace from typical Hungarian food--delicious though calorie-laden, and the presentation and service are outstanding, at reasonable cost. The location is great, near the Great Market Hall (Csarnok) and Vaci St. Can't say our waiters were rude at all--actually very classy, a new style for Budapest servers. Perhaps the child was fussing. It really isn't a place I would take a child, as it is frequented mostly by well-heeled tourists who would not like to have a child interrupt their dinner. However, we did have a family with two nicely behaved children sitting at a table very close by. Hmmmmm. I never felt so unwelcome in my café – life! I never met so unpolite waiters (and I have been many in cafés in Paris)! Was that because I was a tourist? with a baby? because I simply ask about the empty table we were seeing while they told me it was full? I would not recommend the café central if you are something else than a rich hungarian single man. You would risk to have a very unpleasant time.
